Come see Cresson Dance in our 2011 spring shows!

May 6: Mixed Rep at the Butte May 7: So you think you can Cresson Dance!
Friday & Saturday, May 6 & 7, 2011: Please join us at the Butte Theater as the Cresson Dance Company and the
CCV Junior/Senior High School dancers team up to present a delightfully diverse weekend of dance, ranging from the technically demanding
classical-style choreography of Stacy Smith's Water Music to the hip-hop swagger of new creations by Dara Watkins. This ride also swings through the
realms of classic rock and romantic-era divertissements from Sleeping Beauty.
On May 7, the young dancers' program is shortened to extend a little love and star treatment to local celebrities competing in
this year's epic edition of So You Think You Can Cresson Dance! We'll have a lot of laughs, catered food, libations and door prizes at the
Saturday event, our biggest fundraiser of the year. Please click here for details of both shows!
Cresson Dance is a nonprofit organization, 501(c)(3), offering quality dance instruction and performance opportunities in the Cripple Creek, Colorado, area.
Students ages 3 to adult learn dance technique and choreography, build strength and develop artistry, and experience the joy of performing diverse styles of dance on stage. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who wants to dance will have that chance!
Please see the Calendar for our full Spring 2011 schedule |
The Cresson Dance Program began in 1999 and has grown swiftly, involving up to 80 students a year in classes ranging from hip-hop to ballroom dancing.
Currently we offer Creative Movement, Ballet I, Ballet II, a Performing Company, and a Dance Elective for junior and senior high school students. Artistic Director Stacy Smith also offers Yoga classes to all ages Tuesdays and Thursday evenings at CCV High School.
Our touring troupe, The Cresson Dance Company was established in 2002 for serious dancers eager for more performing experiences and ready for the challenges of advanced technique and choreography. These young dancers, ages 9-18, perform more than 20 times per year throughout Teller, Park and El Paso Counties. Engaging, entertaining and educational, these performances are always free of charge and appeal to audiences of all ages.
We would love to bring the art of dance to your school or event from our home territory at the Cripple Creek-Victor Schools.
OUR MISSION: To provide high-quality dance performances and educational experiences to ALL interested students and audiences in the Pikes Peak region.
