Ballet at the Butte

TWO BUTTE OPERA HOUSE PERFORMANCES will be given by the Cresson Dance Company free to the public.

When: Friday, May 7, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 8, at 7 p.m.

Where: Butte Opera House, 139 E. Bennett Ave. in Cripple Creek

The Cresson Dance Company will perform a wide variety of dances from its 30+ piece repertoire, including the timeless classic Peter and the Wolf, and the neo-classical In the Wake of the Wind. A Hip-Hop peice by former Company member Dara Watkins, modern movement by guest choreographer Dana Richardson, along with a selection of solos, round out the evening. Admission is free. Donations, however, will be gratefully accepted.

Among the other special events planned for Spring 2010, the Cresson Dance Program is now offering classes in Divide at Summit Elementary. Our 2010 So You Think You Can Cresson Dance? competition and fundraiser will be held April 24 at the Butte Opera House in Cripple Creek. Also, the Cresson Dance Program, which is the instructional aspect of our organization, will present their annual Spring Performances at Cresson Elementary School.
