Ballet at the Butte

TWO BUTTE OPERA HOUSE PERFORMANCES will be given by the Cresson Dance Company free to the public.

When: Friday, May 16, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 17, at 7 p.m.

Where: Butte Opera House, 139 E. Bennett Ave. in Cripple Creek

The Cresson Dance Company will perform a wide variety of dances from its 30+ piece repertoire, including Paquita, a classical ballet with a spanish flavor to the music of Leon Minkus, Rhapsody in Blue to the music of George Gershwin, and Happy Feet Suite to music from the movie. Admission is free. Donations, however, will be gratefully accepted.

Among the other special events planned for Sring 2008, the Thin Air Theatre Company has invited members of the senior Company to perform as guests in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Butte. Also, the Cresson Dance Program, which is the instructional aspect of our organization, will present their annual Spring Performances at Cresson Elementary School.
