The annual spring performances for 2008 feature a lively new interpretation of Happy Feet, which uses music from the movie to explore the joy of dance. A spicy selection from the ballet Paquita is the classical representation of our program. Finally, George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue brings a contemporary, romantic flavor to the show.

The Cresson Dance Company and other members of the after-school dance program will perform at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 16 and 17, at the Butte Opera House, 139 E. Bennett Ave. in Cripple Creek. The shows are free and open to the public.

All students of Cresson Dance will be performing at the Cresson Elementary School Spring Concerts at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, and 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the grade school. These shows will also feature a choreographic workshop of original peices by selected dancers as well as a musical involving the entire school.
